Whiteoak Creek Falls, also known as Whiteoak Falls, is a lidar-measured 30-foot waterfall on Whiteoak Creek in the Nantahala National Forest, North Carolina.
The falls
Lidar data puts the drop at about 30 feet, down from an older figure of 40 feet in two tiers with a 25-foot tallest drop. The same drop, known among paddlers as "Mean Mistreater," is the last rapid of an expert Whiteoak Creek run rated Class V+, at about 28 feet; the creek carries further drops of 10 and 25 feet upstream.
Getting there
The falls are reached by a 0.1-mile out-and-back route from Old River Road at Wayah Road in the Nantahala National Forest. Vehicle traffic on Old River Road is closed because of a partial washout, so visitors park at the road's end and follow a path from the bridge on the river's right side.

The short path leads to the creek, which runs deep and fast, and the rocks near the falls are slippery.
