Black Canyon Falls is a stretch of rapids on Gunnison River in Montrose County, Colorado, in the Colorado Plateaus region. It lies about 11.4 miles northeast of Montrose and roughly 55.9 miles southeast of Grand Junction as the crow flies.
The Colorado Plateaus are a high desert of layered sandstone mesas, canyons and plateaus with pinyon-juniper woodland and sagebrush. Waterfalls here are often seasonal, spilling over sandstone ledges after storms or snowmelt.
It is the only recorded rapid in Montrose County.

The creek name is confirmed against the federal Geographic Names Information System. The position was verified on aerial imagery.
