Grand Chain Rapids is a stretch of rapids in White County, Illinois, in the Interior River Valleys and Hills region. It lies about 9.1 miles northwest of Mount Vernon and roughly 25.1 miles west of Evansville as the crow flies.
The Interior River Valleys and Hills are rolling terrain of farmland, oak-hickory forest and broad river bottoms along the Ohio and lower Wabash, with a few small waterfalls on sandstone ledges.
It is the only recorded rapid in White County.
