Kanaka Rapids is a stretch of rapids in Gooding County, Idaho, in the Snake River Plain region. It lies about 5 miles northwest of Buhl and roughly 96.3 miles southeast of Boise as the crow flies.
The Snake River Plain is a broad, arid basin of basalt lava and sagebrush, with irrigated farmland along the river. Waterfalls occur where the Snake and its spring-fed tributaries cut through the basalt.
It is the only recorded rapid in Gooding County. Dolman Rapids, is about 9.4 miles away. Bell Rapids, a historical rapids rapid, is about 11.2 miles away.
