The Karmic Wave Rapid is a stretch of rapids in Taos County, New Mexico, in the Arizona/New Mexico Plateau region. It lies about 12 miles southwest of Ranchos de Taos and roughly 40.9 miles north of Santa Fe as the crow flies.
The Arizona/New Mexico Plateau is a high, semi-arid tableland of grassland, sagebrush and pinyon-juniper woodland cut by canyons. Waterfalls occur along canyon streams and are strongest during snowmelt and summer monsoon.
