Big Lyons Falls is a 45-foot rock-shelter waterfall in Ashland County, Ohio, on an unnamed tributary of the Clear Fork Mohican River, inside Mohican State Park.
The falls
Water drops over a resistant ledge of Mississippian Black Hand Sandstone in a rock shelter. The park's own trail map calls the fall Big Lyons Falls, while the World Waterfall Database's shorter page title uses Lyons Falls.
Getting there
Park at the small lot south of the park's covered bridge and follow the official Lyons Falls Trail, a 2-mile loop that the park map rates moderate. The route follows the Clear Fork about 0.5 mile before climbing the tributary about 0.4 mile to the falls. No parking or admission fee is posted, and no 2026 trail closure is on record.
