Blue Suck Falls is a 45-foot waterfall in three tiers on Blue Suck Run, descending Middle Mountain toward Wilson Creek in Douthat State Park, Bath County, Virginia.
The falls
The stream drops down Middle Mountain in three steps of roughly equal height. A lidar survey posted to the World Waterfall Database measures the combined drop at 45 feet; the database currently marks the waterfall's classification as unconfirmed.
Getting there
Douthat State Park is entered from 14239 Douthat State Park Road in Millboro and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; there is no cell service in the park. The Blue Suck Falls Trail measures 3.2 miles one way and is rated difficult in the park's own trail guide, though that covers the whole trail rather than just the walk to the falls. Another route to the falls, via Tobacco Ridge, places the base around mile 2.2. A longer route links Blue Suck Falls with nearby Stony Run Falls in an 8.8-mile loop that includes unbridged creek crossings. Parking costs $7 per vehicle, weekdays and weekends, as of May 21, 2026.
When to go
Flow is best after rainfall, in spring and early summer, and can nearly disappear during dry periods.

Leashed dogs are allowed on the park's trails. A formal rule on swimming at the falls is not documented.
History and name
"Suck" is Appalachian terminology for a whirlpool at the base of a waterfall.
