Crooked Creek Falls is a 40-foot plunge waterfall on Crooked Creek, on the south side of Mount Adams in Yakima County, Washington, within the Yakama Reservation's Tract D recreation area.
The falls
A lidar survey posted to the World Waterfall Database measures the drop at 40 feet; Oregon Hikers and an earlier survey give it at about 50 feet.
Getting there
Access is within the Yakama Reservation's Tract D recreation area, where seasonal use requires a tribal permit. As of an August 26, 2026 notice, the Yakama Nation had closed the Mount Adams Recreation Area, including this access, because of nearby wildfires, with no later reopening reported. When open, the usual approach is the gravel Road 82 to the parking area at the south end of Bird Lake, from which the falls are a little over a mile away one way; a separate 3-mile, 800-foot-gain hike description covers the broader Bird Creek Meadows area, not just this walk. Current permits are arranged directly through the Yakama Nation's recreation office.

Trails in the area were damaged and signage was lost after the 2015 Cougar Creek Fire. Leashed dogs are required.
