Dog Creek Falls is a 33-foot veiling horsetail waterfall on Dog Creek in the Columbia River Gorge, Skamania County, Washington, about 7.2 miles west of Hood River, Oregon, dropping into a pool beside State Route 14.
The falls
Fed by springs, Dog Creek spreads into a thin veil as it falls, with the known part of the drop at 30 feet within a 33-foot total.
Getting there
A roadside pullout on State Route 14 sits about 6 miles east of Carson or 10 miles west of Bingen and White Salmon, with a roughly 100-foot trail leading to the pool at the base. The U.S. Forest Service manages the site. The outing is an easy, family-friendly 0.2-mile round trip with no restroom, trailhead pass, or permit needed, per Friends of the Columbia Gorge; check current alerts before visiting, since closures are not tracked there.
