Fern Rock Falls is a 35-foot, four-tier horsetail waterfall on Fern Rock Creek, visible from Oregon Route 6 in Tillamook County, Oregon.
The falls
The creek falls in four tiers for a total of about 35 feet, with the tallest tier at 20 feet. The falls stand about 100 feet from the road, visible through the trees.
Getting there
A signed roadside viewpoint sits on Oregon Route 6 at about milepost 29.5, roughly 29 miles east of Tillamook and 13 miles west of the junction with Route 8. The land is managed by the Oregon Department of Forestry as part of Tillamook State Forest, which stays open for recreation unless closed for fire danger or another hazard; check current road and fire-closure information before travel.
When to go
Winter through spring is the best-flow season, though the small drainage appears to flow year-round.
