Greenstone Falls is a 6-foot tiered waterfall on the Little Carp River in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Ontonagon County, Michigan.
The falls
The river is mapped with two tiers, though a lidar look at the site finds only about 6 feet of fall and no significant lower step, leaving the second drop shown on topographic maps unconfirmed. The water below the falls runs dark and tannin-stained, typical of rivers stepping over bedrock ledges in the region.
Getting there
The falls sit on the Little Carp River Trail within the park, reached by a 2-mile round trip. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry to the park: in 2026, $15 for Michigan residents and $12 a day, or $42 a year, for nonresidents.
When to go
South Boundary Road, which serves the park, closes from December 1 into late spring and becomes a snowmobile route in winter; no exact reopening date is given.

Wading at the base is described, but the water carries leeches, and official swimming approval is not documented. The park's map warns visitors to be self-reliant in the backcountry and to watch for unpredictable black bears.
