Hammerschmidt Falls is a 43-foot waterfall on tributary of Indian Creek in Newton County, Arkansas, in the Boston Mountains region. It lies about 17.5 miles southwest of Harrison and roughly 48.3 miles east of Springdale as the crow flies.
At 43 feet it is taller than the typical Arkansas waterfall of about 34 feet, ranking 40th of 110 with a recorded height. By form it is a curtain waterfall, a thin sheet of water spread across a wide ledge.
The Boston Mountains are the highest and most rugged part of the Ozarks, deeply dissected sandstone plateaus covered in oak-hickory forest with shortleaf pine. Clear creeks cut narrow hollows with numerous bluff-line waterfalls, at their best in spring.
