Hetch Hetchy Falls is a 750-foot waterfall in Tuolumne County, California, in the Sierra Nevada region. It lies about 18.7 miles northwest of Yosemite Valley and roughly 59.8 miles northeast of Merced as the crow flies.
At 750 feet it stands in the tallest quarter of California’s 286 waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 19th; the typical California waterfall is about 70 feet. By form it is a veiling waterfall, a thin sheet of water spread over the rock face, combined with a horsetail character.
