Knowles Falls is a waterfall on Yellowstone River in Park County, Montana, in the Middle Rockies region, with a total height of about 15 feet. It lies about 34.7 miles northeast of West Yellowstone and roughly 114.7 miles southwest of Billings as the crow flies.
At 15 feet it is one of the lowest falls in the state’s records: of the 123 Montana waterfalls with a documented height only 0 are shorter, while the typical Montana waterfall stands around 250 feet. The water comes down as a cascade, descending over a series of rock steps rather than in a single drop.
