Middle Oneonta Falls drops 24 feet on Oneonta Creek in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Multnomah County, Oregon, and is one of several falls seen along the Horsetail Falls Loop.
The falls
The creek, fed by springs, comes down in a single horsetail drop measured at 24 feet. Older publications reported figures from 45 to 75 feet before a survey settled on that number.
Getting there
The Horsetail Falls Loop, 2.5 miles round trip with 660 feet of gain, requires no pass and allows dogs on a leash, though there is no restroom along the way. Cascade Locks, the nearest town, is about 10.6 miles away. The maintained route now runs above Oneonta Gorge to a bridge view of Middle Oneonta Falls; the lower slot-canyon gorge below is closed.

March through October is the commonly used season for the loop.

The World Waterfall Database treats the name Middle Oneonta Falls as unofficial, and says older books sometimes confused this drop with Oneonta Falls or Upper Oneonta Falls upstream.
