Ramsey Falls is a 25-foot horsetail waterfall on Ramsey Creek in Alexander Ramsey Park, the city park in Redwood Falls, Redwood County, Minnesota, where an overlook sits beside a parking lot.
The falls
Ramsey Creek pours over a single ledge in the center of the park and, shortly below, joins the Redwood River near the park zoo. The drop is about 25 feet based on lidar data, with heights cited up to 30 feet. Depending on the water level, the falls show as one wide, roaring curtain or split into two separate streams.
Getting there
Alexander Ramsey Park is in the town of Redwood Falls. A parking lot lies next to the falls overlook, and several trails also lead there, including one across the park's suspension bridge. The park has four miles of paved trails, overlooks, shelters, a campground and a zoo. The observation area at the falls has pathways and bridges, a picnic shelter, a restroom building and a playground. Admission to the park and zoo is free, with free parking.
When to go
The overlook is open all year, and the look of the falls changes with the season and water level. Spring snowmelt is recommended for photographing the falls.

History and name
The park was a Minnesota state park from 1911 to 1957. Several of its shelters and bridges were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
