Salamander Falls is a 440-foot waterfall on meltwater of Salamander Glacier in Glacier County, Montana, in the Canadian Rockies region. It lies about 33.4 miles northeast of Columbia Falls and roughly 130.7 miles north of Missoula as the crow flies.
At 440 feet it is taller than the typical Montana waterfall of about 250 feet, ranking 38th of 123 with a recorded height. By form it is a horsetail, where the water keeps some contact with the bedrock as it falls.
The Canadian Rockies in Montana are high, glaciated mountains of sharp peaks, cirques and U-shaped valleys with spruce-fir and lodgepole forest. Meltwater from snowfields and glaciers feeds spectacular cascades.
