Sentinel Falls is a 150-foot waterfall on Sentinel Creek in Teton County, Wyoming, in the Middle Rockies region. It lies about 11.8 miles southeast of West Yellowstone and roughly 94 miles northeast of Idaho Falls as the crow flies.
At 150 feet it stands in the tallest quarter of Wyoming’s 230 waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 54th; the typical Wyoming waterfall is about 60 feet. By form it is a tiered waterfall, falling in several distinct steps one after another.
The Middle Rockies are high, glaciated mountain ranges with alpine peaks, subalpine fir and spruce forest, lodgepole pine and grassy intermontane valleys. Snowmelt streams cascade down glacial valleys and canyon walls.
