Slippery Falls is a 5-foot sliding cascade on Pennington Creek in Johnston County, Oklahoma, about 4.8 miles north of Tishomingo. It gives its name to the Last Frontier Council's Kerr Scout Ranch at Slippery Falls, the Scout camp that surrounds it.
The falls
The drop is a single 5-foot cascade over a small set of shoals or gradual sliding cascades. Pennington Creek here is spring-fed, with rock formations along its banks.
Getting there
The falls are on private camp property at 4500 S. Bullet Prairie Road, Tishomingo, owned by the Last Frontier Council. No public day access is documented; the ranch runs summer camp for Scout troops and crews, with three weeklong sessions in June 2026. During camp weeks, parents and friends of campers are invited to a Monday evening supper and program, and pets are not allowed.

History and name
In late 1966, Last Frontier Council leaders explored land then known as Slippery Falls Ranch, bought it and opened summer camp in 1967. The first campsites were on the east side of Pennington Creek, and campers crossed on a simple bridge just upstream of the falls; during one flood, staff sent food across on a cable and pulley. The camp was later renamed for the Kerr family and now hosts more than 2,000 Scouts each summer.
