The falls
The creek falls as a single horsetail measuring about 45 feet into a rock grotto amid Douglas-fir and cedar. The Forest Service's trail guide instead calls it 60 feet. This is the lower of two falls on the creek, on Trail #1403C; Upper Trestle Creek Falls, upstream on a separate trail, is a different waterfall.
Getting there
From Cottage Grove, reach the trailhead by way of Row River Road, Brice Creek Road and the Champion Creek Trailhead, then follow Brice Creek Trail west to Trail #1403C. The falls sit about 0.75 mile from the trailhead, though a separate measurement puts the approach closer to half a mile. The route is rated More Difficult, sees moderate use, and has no fee; it is open year-round.

The preferred flow period runs from March through June.

A narrow trail runs through the canyon to the base of the falls. Whether swimming is allowed here, any dog rule, and the trail's elevation gain are not documented.
