Captain Jones Rapids is a stretch of rapids in Tehama County, California, in the Central California Valley region. It lies about 5.1 miles east of Corning and roughly 18.7 miles northwest of Chico as the crow flies.
The Central California Valley is a flat, intensively farmed basin of former grassland and wetland between the Coast Ranges and the Sierra Nevada. Natural waterfalls are rare here and lie at the valley’s very edges.
It is the only recorded rapid in Tehama County.
