Coot Chute is a stretch of rapids in Shannon County, Missouri, in the Ozark Highlands region. It lies about 12.5 miles north of Winona and roughly 97.4 miles north of Jonesboro as the crow flies.
The Ozark Highlands are a dissected limestone and dolomite plateau of oak-hickory forest, glades and karst springs. Spring-fed streams and creeks drop over ledges and into sinkholes and caves.
It is the only recorded rapid in Shannon County. Bellah Falls, is about 27 miles away.
