Grabel Shoals is a stretch of rapids in Putnam County, Georgia, in the Piedmont region. It lies about 9.8 miles east of Eatonton and roughly 38.1 miles northeast of Macon as the crow flies.
The Piedmont is rolling upland between the Appalachians and the coastal plain, with mixed oak-pine forest, farmland and expanding cities. Waterfalls mark the fall line and the rocky beds of rivers crossing hard crystalline rock.
It is the only recorded rapid in Putnam County. Fraley Shoals, a historical rapids rapid, is about 7.3 miles away. Long Shoals, is about 7.8 miles away. Riley Shoals, is about 8.2 miles away.
