The Whirl is a stretch of rapids in Houston County, Texas, in the South Central Plains region. It lies about 9 miles south of Alto and roughly 58.2 miles south of Tyler as the crow flies.
The South Central Plains are the pine-hardwood forests of the piney woods, with low rolling hills and slow streams. Waterfalls are small and uncommon.
It is the only recorded rapid in Houston County.
