Chain Cascade is a waterfall in Mariposa County, California, in the Sierra Nevada region, with a total height of about 1,150 feet. It lies about 5.3 miles east of Yosemite Valley and roughly 61.8 miles northeast of Madera as the crow flies.
At 1,150 feet it stands in the tallest quarter of California’s 286 waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 14th; the typical California waterfall is about 70 feet. The water comes down as a slide, where the water glides down a smooth, inclined rock surface, combined with a horsetail character.
