Cloudcap Falls is a 2,400-foot waterfall in Whatcom County, Washington, in the North Cascades region. It lies about 27.9 miles east of Peaceful Valley and roughly 42.3 miles east of Bellingham as the crow flies.
At 2,400 feet it is among the ten tallest of the 941 Washington waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 3rd. By form it is a cascade, descending over a series of rock steps rather than in a single drop.
The North Cascades are a wilderness of jagged peaks, glaciers and deep, forested valleys of western hemlock, silver fir and Douglas fir, with some of the heaviest snowfall in the country. Meltwater from glaciers and snowfields pours down thousands of feet of cliffs in countless cascades and horsetail falls.
