Fallen Water Falls is a 14-foot waterfall in Union County, Tennessee, in the Ridge and Valley region. It lies about 1.9 miles northwest of Luttrell and roughly 20 miles northeast of Knoxville as the crow flies.
At 14 feet it is on the modest side for Tennessee, where the typical waterfall with a recorded height stands around 30 feet; it ranks 256th of 332. By form it is a horsetail, where the water keeps some contact with the bedrock as it falls.
The Ridge and Valley is a corridor of long, parallel forested ridges and farmed limestone valleys running the length of the Appalachians. Waterfalls occur where streams cut through resistant sandstone on the ridges.
