Holland Falls drops about 155 feet in tiers down Holland Creek in the Flathead National Forest, Missoula County, Montana. An easy 1.6-mile trail from Holland Lake leads to its base.
The falls
The World Waterfall Database classifies Holland Falls as confirmed and gives its height as 155 feet. A separate figure puts the drop at 50 feet, and no field survey has resolved the difference. The trail climbs beside Holland Lake and ends at the base of the falls at 4,800 feet in elevation.
Getting there
From Highway 83 near mile marker 35, Holland Lake Road 44 turns east; the trailhead is about four miles farther, past the Holland Lake day-use site and campground. Holland Falls National Recreation Trail 416 runs 1.6 miles one way with about 750 feet of elevation gain. It is rated easy and open to hiking only.
