Horseshoe Falls is a 25-foot cascade on the Wallkill River in the village of Walden, Orange County, New York, topped by a small V-shaped dam.
The falls
The river drops in a steep cascade over the dam. A lidar survey puts the combined dam and waterfall at about 35 feet, but the dam obscures the natural fall itself, which is separately estimated at 25 feet.
Getting there
The village's 2025 comprehensive plan identifies Veterans Memorial Park, on the river's west bank, as a scenic overlook with views of the upper and lower falls. The village also lists Marcus Millspaugh Riverfront Park, on Maple Street, as a public boat and fishing access point on the Wallkill River, though it is not identified as a waterfall viewpoint. Feature-specific parking, trail distance, fees and hours are not documented.

The overlook at Veterans Memorial Park takes in both the upper and lower falls. Swimming and dam-safety rules are not documented.
History and name
The falls are also known as Wallkill River Falls and Great Falls; the V shape of the dam is thought to be the source of the name Horseshoe Falls.
