Indian Falls is a 25-foot horsetail on Indian Brook in Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve, Putnam County, New York, and is currently reached by a closed trail.
The falls
The brook drops as a single horsetail, with an informal alternate estimate of about 30 feet against the surveyed 25.
Getting there
The state's Hudson Highlands master plan maps a short trail to the base of the falls from Indian Brook Road and includes the falls within the boundary of the preserve. The 0.6-mile Indian Brook Falls Trail is currently closed; the nearby parking lot has been closed, roadside parking is prohibited, and the park manager does not expect it to reopen soon. No current, official 2026 closure or reopening notice has been found.

Trail damage has forced visitors to walk in the streambed to reach the falls, creating slippery footing and ecological damage.
History and name
The falls are also known as Indian Brook Falls. Author Washington Irving and associates visited the falls in 1834.
