Maxwell Falls is a 20-foot tiered waterfall on Maxwell Creek in Jefferson County, Colorado, reached by trail south of Evergreen.
The falls
The waterfall drops in two tiers, and a lidar-based estimate on the current World Waterfall Database listing shows a total drop of about 20 feet. Flow is best during spring snowmelt.
Getting there
The Lower and Upper Maxwell Falls Trailheads, in the Arapaho National Forest's Clear Creek Ranger District, give access to Maxwell Falls Trail #111. The Forest Service calls it one of the district's easiest trails, though it does not give a distance or elevation gain. A current fee or permit requirement has not been documented.

Dogs must be kept leashed on the trail under Jefferson County law. An order signed May 11, 2021 prohibited camping, fires, nighttime presence, and parking contrary to signs around the Maxwell Falls trails for five years or until rescinded; that term ended May 11, 2026, and whether it has been extended is unclear.
