The falls
Mill Creek drops through the Coast Range, a belt of steep, dissected hills near the Pacific covered in temperate rainforest of Douglas fir, western hemlock, Sitka spruce and red alder. Heavy winter rain feeds the area's short, fast-moving creeks, which are lined with ferns, salmonberry and moss and drop steeply toward the ocean or the Columbia. Mill Creek carries four recorded waterfalls along its course, and Polk County holds 28 in total. The falls themselves sit at an elevation of about 1,656 feet above sea level. No height, drop count or access details exist for this particular entry; two other same-named Oregon waterfalls carry figures of 35 and 173 feet instead.
