The falls
An 11-foot upper cascade feeds a 21-foot lower tier made of a 5-foot chute and a 16-foot slide, for a surveyed total of 32 feet — well above the earlier figure of 20 feet across a 12-foot tallest drop. The brook runs year-round on runoff, with the best flow from November to May.
Getting there
From Jamaica, drive 4.7 miles west to a wide shoulder; the top of the falls is about 200 feet down the trail. A town plan for Jamaica sets aside several acres between Pikes Falls Road and the brook for public access, and private homes surround the rest of the site, so visitors should obey posted signs and stay on trails.
When to go
Rain and snowmelt raise the flow, and November through May is the recommended season.

The path reaches both the top and the bottom, though the two tiers cannot be seen clearly together. Vermont's environmental agency documents the base pool as a swimming hole within a town preserve and lists this reach as the state's first designated Outstanding Resource Water. Dog rules, child suitability, and any incident history at the falls are not documented.
