Slate Falls is a 54-foot waterfall on tributary of Rock Creek in Sebastian County, Arkansas, in the Arkansas Valley region. It lies about 5.4 miles south of Mansfield and roughly 28.7 miles south of Fort Smith as the crow flies.
At 54 feet it is taller than the typical Arkansas waterfall of about 34 feet, ranking 28th of 110 with a recorded height. By form it is a plunge, where the water drops vertically and loses contact with the rock face.
The Arkansas Valley is a lowland of plains and low ridges between the Ozarks and the Ouachitas, with oak forest, pasture and cropland and a handful of small waterfalls on its ridges.
It is the only recorded waterfall in Sebastian County. Hontubby Falls, is about 19.8 miles away across the state line in Oklahoma.
