Fraley Shoals is a stretch of rapids in Baldwin County, Georgia, in the Piedmont region. It lies about 6.4 miles north of Milledgeville and roughly 32.1 miles northeast of Macon as the crow flies.
The Piedmont is rolling upland between the Appalachians and the coastal plain, with mixed oak-pine forest, farmland and expanding cities. Waterfalls mark the fall line and the rocky beds of rivers crossing hard crystalline rock.
