Blackwell Falls is a waterfall on meltwater of Blackwell Glacier in Lincoln County, Montana, in the Northern Rockies region, with a total height of about 1,180 feet. It lies about 12 miles southwest of Libby and roughly 81.9 miles northeast of Spokane Valley as the crow flies.
At 1,180 feet it is among the ten tallest of the 123 Montana waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 7th. The water comes down as a cascade, descending over a series of rock steps rather than in a single drop.
The Northern Rockies are rugged, glaciated mountains with dense forests of western red cedar, hemlock, larch and Douglas fir in the moist valleys and alpine terrain above. Abundant snowmelt feeds rivers and cascading creeks.
