Buttermilk Falls is a 25-foot waterfall on Marshalls Creek in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, about 2.6 miles east of East Stroudsburg. It is one of several falls along Marshalls Creek in the Ridge and Valley region.
The falls
The Brodhead Watershed Conservation Plan describes the creek making a gradual drop of about 30 feet over limestone here, several miles south of Marshalls Falls, with Twin Falls also upstream on the same creek. Lidar data puts it at about 25 feet in a single drop; earlier surveys listed 18 feet. Form, width and flow remain undetermined.
Getting there
The falls lie just upstream of Buttermilk Falls Road, where local Streamwatch volunteers have sampled Marshalls Creek below the falls. No landowner, public trail or parking area has been published for the falls, so access isn't documented.
