Elk Riffle is a stretch of rapids in Owen County, Kentucky, in the Interior Plateau region. It lies about 6.5 miles east of Owenton and roughly 37.2 miles northwest of Lexington-Fayette as the crow flies.
The Interior Plateau is a rolling limestone landscape of pasture, oak-hickory woodland and cedar glades in Kentucky and Tennessee, riddled with springs, sinkholes and caves. Waterfalls drop over limestone ledges and in karst valleys.
It is the only recorded rapid in Owen County.
