Punchbowl Falls is a 10-foot plunge waterfall on the West Fork Hood River in Hood River County, Oregon, where the river narrows into a large pool at a small county park.
The falls
The river drops in a single plunge between columnar-basalt cliffs into a punchbowl-shaped pool at the glacier-fed confluence of the East and West Fork Hood River. The fall is 10 feet high with one drop.
Getting there
Hood River County manages Punchbowl Falls Park, with limited parking and no restroom on site; there is no fee and no reservation is required. The park is open for daylight use only. A short, quarter-mile trail above the falls leads to a beach at the fork confluence.
On site
Pets must stay leashed outside vehicles, overnight camping is not allowed, and visitors are asked to pack out their own waste. Oregon's 2026 fishing regulations close the West Fork Hood River around Punchbowl Falls to angling.
History and name
Hood River County bought the property for its park system in April 2016 and added small amenities in 2019.
