Silver Falls is a 12-foot, two-drop seasonal waterfall on the White River in Crosby County, Texas, reached directly from a highway rest area on US 82.
The falls
The falls are 12 feet high in two drops, though the page carrying that figure remains unconfirmed; older data put the height at a single 8-foot drop. The falls run mainly after substantial rain, since irrigation has dried up most of the original springs that once fed the White River here.
Getting there
The Texas Department of Transportation's Crosby County Safety Rest Area, on eastbound US 82, gives direct access to the falls. The rest area has drinking water, picnic tables, accessible main facilities, a storm shelter and restrooms open 24 hours.

Rules for swimming, dogs and reaching the base or top of the falls are not documented.
History and name
New Deal crews built the stonework that still stands at the roadside park in the 1930s. The Texas Historical Commission includes the roadside park among the state's notable historic picnic spots for that surviving work.
