North Fork Falls is a waterfall on North Fork Smith River in Douglas County, Oregon, in the Coast Range region, with a total height of about 125 feet. It lies about 14.5 miles east of Florence and roughly 37.3 miles west of Eugene as the crow flies.
At 125 feet it stands in the tallest quarter of Oregon’s 425 waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 80th; the typical Oregon waterfall is about 54 feet. The water comes down as a veiling waterfall, a thin sheet of water spread over the rock face, combined with a horsetail character.
The Coast Range is a belt of steep, deeply dissected hills along the Pacific, wrapped in dense temperate rainforest of Douglas fir, western hemlock, Sitka spruce and red alder.
