Crooked Falls is a 19-foot waterfall on Missouri River in Cascade County, Montana, in the Northwestern Glaciated Plains region. It lies about 2.1 miles north of Malmstrom Air Force Base and roughly 5.4 miles northeast of Great Falls as the crow flies.
At 19 feet it is one of the lowest falls in the state’s records: of the 123 Montana waterfalls with a documented height only 2 are shorter, while the typical Montana waterfall stands around 250 feet. By form it is a block waterfall, wider than it is tall, spilling over a broad ledge.
The Northwestern Glaciated Plains are rolling grassland and cropland shaped by ice-age glaciers, with prairie potholes and few waterfalls.
