Memorial Falls is a 25-foot waterfall on Memorial Creek in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Cascade County, Montana, near the town of Neihart.
The falls
A lidar survey puts the confirmed single drop at about 25 feet. The trail actually passes two scenic falls along Memorial Creek, more than the one drop that figure covers. Memorial Creek runs through the Middle Rockies, a range of glaciated peaks where snowmelt streams cascade down glacial valleys and canyon walls.
Getting there
The trailhead is on the east side of US Highway 89, 1.6 miles southeast of Neihart, on land managed by the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. The outing to the falls follows the nonmotorized Trail 738, is about one mile round trip with a 0.5-mile walk to reach both falls, and takes roughly an hour; the trail continues past them.
When to go
Early summer through mid-autumn is the recommended season.
