Deer Leap Falls is a 25-foot horsetail waterfall on Dingmans Creek in George W. Childs Park, part of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Pike County, Pennsylvania. It is the third and last of the waterfalls on the park's loop trail, below Factory Falls and Fulmer Falls.
The falls
Dingmans Creek comes down in a single 25-foot horsetail and spreads into a very large, wide and shallow pool at the bottom. A footbridge crosses the creek over the top of the falls.
Getting there
The trailhead is at George W. Childs Park in Dingmans Ferry, with a restroom at the start. The Park Service rates the 1.4-mile loop easy to moderate, with 144 feet of elevation change; stairs lead down into the ravine and back out. The loop follows the creek past Factory Falls and Fulmer Falls before reaching Deer Leap Falls. The accessible section ends at the first waterfall platforms, about 0.4 mile one way, so Deer Leap Falls can't be reached without stairs. There is no entrance fee, and Childs Park is not one of the park's amenity fee sites.

A public program was held at Childs Park in September 2026, so the park was operating then; check the park's website for current conditions before going.
On site
Swimming and wading are prohibited at the falls and in the creek. Pets, alcohol, picnicking and food preparation are not allowed, and visitors must stay on the trail at all times.
History and name
George W. Childs bought the land in 1892 and opened it to the public. Emma Childs deeded it to Pennsylvania in 1912, and it became part of the national recreation area in 1983.
