Dingmans Falls is a 115-foot tiered waterfall on Dingmans Creek in Pike County, Pennsylvania, in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. A short boardwalk from the Dingmans Falls Visitor Center normally leads to it past Silverthread Falls, but the road, visitor center and trail have been closed for bridge and trail reconstruction since May 2025.
The falls
Dingmans Creek drops in three horsetail steps of roughly 15, 45 and 50 feet; the uppermost tier can't be seen from the base. A lidar-based estimate puts the total at about 115 feet; the Park Service's visitor guide gives 130 feet. The World Waterfall Database counts it among the tallest waterfalls in Pennsylvania.
Getting there
The access road, visitor center and trail were closed in May 2025 for bridge replacement and trail rehabilitation, and all traffic is prohibited, including on foot and by bicycle. As of the May 21, 2026 conditions update, no reopening date had been announced; check the park's current conditions before going.
In normal operation the trail starts next to the restrooms in the visitor center lot at the end of Dingmans Falls Road. It runs 0.4 mile one way: the first 0.3 mile is a nearly level boardwalk with 55 feet of elevation change, and the last 0.1 mile climbs 107 feet on steep wooden stairs to a viewpoint at the top. Buses and RVs may not park there on weekends and federal holidays.
When to go
The visitor center normally opens in the summer months. In winter the road closes to vehicles but, outside the construction closure, stays open to pedestrians.

The boardwalk section is stroller and wheelchair accessible, with benches, handrails and accessible restrooms at the trailhead; the stairs are not. Visitors must stay on the boardwalk. Pets are not allowed except service dogs, and swimming, fishing and picnicking on the trail are prohibited. In July 2007 a woman died after falling into Dingmans Creek just upstream of the falls.
History and name
The creek, a nearby town and the falls are named for Andrew Dingman, who started a ferry across the Delaware River in 1735.
