West Fork Falls is a waterfall on West Fork Parachute Creek in Garfield County, Colorado, in the Colorado Plateaus region, with a total height of about 320 feet. It lies about 13.6 miles northwest of Parachute and roughly 44.2 miles northeast of Grand Junction as the crow flies.
At 320 feet it stands in the tallest quarter of Colorado’s 162 waterfalls with a recorded height, ranking 14th; the typical Colorado waterfall is about 65 feet. The water comes down as a horsetail, where the water keeps some contact with the bedrock as it falls.
The Colorado Plateaus are a high desert of layered sandstone mesas, canyons and plateaus with pinyon-juniper woodland and sagebrush. Waterfalls here are often seasonal, spilling over sandstone ledges after storms or snowmelt.
