Aldrichs Shoal is a stretch of rapids in Lancaster County, South Carolina, in the Piedmont region. It lies about 5.8 miles south of Great Falls and roughly 30.8 miles south of Rock Hill as the crow flies.
The Piedmont is rolling upland between the Appalachians and the coastal plain, with mixed oak-pine forest, farmland and expanding cities. Waterfalls mark the fall line and the rocky beds of rivers crossing hard crystalline rock.
